Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged for her pioneering the science of child eyewitness memories as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded many awards and grants. She has advised a variety of authorities and government agencies around all over the world on policy and research relating to the treatment of children victims by the legal system. She also serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was head of the American Psychological Association's three divisions, Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice.
